Criminal Background Check Information

Please be advised that Costa Mesa Pony Baseball obtains criminal background checks for volunteer managers, coaches, board members, assistant coaches, umpires and any other persons, volunteers and/or hired workers who provide regular services to or who have repetitive access to, or contact with, players or teams. Additionally, please be advised that the criminal background checks (conducted through JDP) include a state and federal criminal history with sex offender information. The criminal background check, which is conducted annually, does not include a subsequent arrest notification after the background check has been completed. Finally, please be advised that depending on the information provided by individual states, some background checks are conducted by name only. If an applicant’s name matches a criminal record or a name on a registry in one of these states, the applicant will be notified by mail of the match. Please note this notification is required by law and does not mean the criminal record is now associated with your personal information. Pursuant to California State Law, Article 3 (commencing with Section 11100) of Chapter 1 of Title 1 of Part 4 of the Penal Code, criminal history information is used internally.  Confidential criminal history information is not disclosed to the public.
